It is only stuff – but it is her stuff. Her life.

Last week we moved a 94 year old woman from a three bedroom condo to a one bedroom assisted living apartment. After her move she asked us to close down her condo – her home for 30 years. As we worked our way through the kitchen, garage, and the spare bedroom closet full of her professional clothes, we talked about her amazing life. Somehow I knew she was feeling the care with which we boxed things for charity and filled the trash bags for the dumpster. It is only stuff – but it is her stuff. Her life. Everyone deserves respect and are grateful when they receive it.
